Copyright & takedowns
Effective October 21, 2026
K-Signal is a search service. We show headlines, short extracts and small thumbnails to identify stories, and we send readers to the outlets that published them. We respect the rights of publishers and creators and respond quickly to requests.
Publishers: removal and opt-out
If you run an outlet and do not want K-Signal to index your feed, show your pictures, or link to particular articles, tell us through the contact form (topic “Legal”) from an address at your domain. We will act within 5 business days. Our crawler identifies itself as “K-Signal/1.0 (+https://k-signal.com)”. We do not show pictures that their outlet marks as not for use on other sites.
Copyright notices (US DMCA and similar laws)
If you believe material on K-Signal infringes your copyright, send a notice including: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) the copyrighted work you claim is infringed; (3) the material on K-Signal and its URL; (4) your name, address, phone number and email; (5) a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner. Send it through the contact form (topic “Legal”). We remove or disable access to material that is the subject of a valid notice and notify the person who provided it, where there is one.
Counter-notices. If material you provided was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice with your signature, the material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and phone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, outside the US, any district where K-Signal may be found) and to service of process from the complainant. We may restore the material after 10 business days unless the complainant tells us they have filed a lawsuit.
False notices or counter-notices can create legal liability. We end the accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate.
Korea, Japan and elsewhere
Rights holders and people affected by content we show (for example by defamation or invasion of privacy) may request removal under the law that applies to them, including Korea’s Copyright Act and Information and Communications Network Act, and Japan’s Information Distribution Platform Act. We will review each request promptly, remove or temporarily restrict access where appropriate, and tell the requester what we did.
AI briefs
Briefs are AI-generated summaries labelled as such, with every source linked. If a brief misstates your reporting or about you, tell us and we will correct or remove it.
