GS E&C (GS건설) confirmed that personal information of residents in some of its apartments was leaked via hacking of its community facility reservation management system. The company sent notices to customers on Oct. 30, saying an external unauthorized access caused the leak, with the hacking detected around 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 28. Potentially leaked data includes names, phone numbers, addresses, passwords, and RF card numbers used for common entrance access, according to Kyunghyang Shinmun. Yonhap reports the breach was confirmed, and Dong-A Ilbo notes the system involved was the '자이' apartment community reservation system (FMCS). The incident comes amid a series of hacking attacks across telecom and finance sectors, heightening public anxiety, as Chosun Ilbo reports.
