GS E&C (GS건설) confirmed that personal information of residents in some apartments it built was leaked in an external hacking attack on its community facility reservation management system. The hack occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 28, and possible leaked data includes names, phone numbers, addresses, passwords, and RF card numbers used for common entrance access, as reported by Yonhap and other outlets. The company sent a notice to residents on Oct. 30. Korean media are linking this to a broader wave of cyberattacks, with similar breaches reported at Jin Air (1,454 members), Bithumb, and SK Planet, prompting the presidential office to hold an emergency meeting over financial-sector hacking attacks.
