LG CNS has completed construction of a 30-megawatt (MW) hyperscale AI data center in Jakarta, Indonesia, becoming the first Korean company to build an AI data center overseas for a local client, Yonhap reports. The company said Monday it had finished the project, with the entire capacity already leased to customers before completion, according to Chosun Ilbo. The project was carried out with KMG, a joint venture of Indonesia's Sinarmas Group and Korea Investment Real Asset Management, Chosun Ilbo reports. LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-kyun attended the completion ceremony on Nov. 1 with Sinarmas Group Chairman Franky O. Widjaja, according to Kyunghyang Shinmun. The company plans to expand into additional Indonesian projects and markets in Asia-Pacific, North America, and Europe, Yonhap reports. On Nov. 2, LG CNS shares rose over 8% in early trading, with the stock trading at 78,600 won, up 6,400 won (8.86%) from the previous session, Chosun Ilbo reports. The company's Q3 operating profit rose 15% led by AI and cloud business growth, Yonhap reports.
