North Korea fired an unidentified projectile toward the East Sea on Wednesday morning, according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), which has begun analyzing the projectile and its range, Yonhap and KBS World report. The JCS detected the launch without elaborating, and the latest launch came after a previous firing on October 29, when North Korea launched around a dozen short-range ballistic missiles from the Wonsan area at around 12:30 p.m., according to the Korea Times. Korean media are reporting the event as a military development, with the JCS analyzing the projectile's type and flight distance; if confirmed as a ballistic missile, it would be the first launch since October 31, KBS World notes.
