SK Inc., the holding company of SK Group, has decided to pursue full ownership of its subsidiary SK Ecoplant through a tender offer instead of an initial public offering (IPO). At a board meeting on November 4, SK Inc. resolved to buy SK Ecoplant shares at 88,000 won per share, with the tender period running from November 5 to 24, targeting 16,434,638 shares, paid in cash. SK Inc. already holds about 74% of SK Ecoplant's voting shares after acquiring financial investors' stakes in April for around 400 billion won. Yonhap reports the move aims to make SK Ecoplant a wholly owned subsidiary, while Business Korea notes SK Inc. is pursuing a 100% stake rather than an IPO.
