Samsung execs meet OpenAI's Altman on AI strategy

On October 31, 2026, about 50 presidents from major Samsung affiliates, including electronics, finance, and bio units, met OpenAI CEO Sam Altman at Samsung's training center in Yongin, Gyeonggi, for a session themed 'AI will change the next 10 years, corporate choices' to discuss AI transformation and future strategies. Altman reportedly gifted a Codex keyboard, designed for OpenAI's coding agent, to the executives. Separately, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won also had a lunch meeting with Altman in Seoul, with SK hynix and SK Telecom executives present, to discuss AI cooperation, though details were not disclosed. Korean media, including Yonhap, Chosun Ilbo, and Maeil Business, covered the meetings as a sign of accelerating AI-driven management in Korea's top conglomerates.
